No. of Participants: 4 Teachers, 21 Semester-I Students and 5 Alumni Students
Objective of the event: To celebrate Teachers’ Day and honour the Teachers of the department.
Teachers serve as the bedrock of any society. A portion of a student’s success can be attributed to their teachers, as it is the teachers’ mentorship, guidance, and well-wishing that inspire students to perform at their best. Teachers devote their lives to imparting their knowledge, often choosing to remain in the background so that students can shine in the spotlight.
This year, in honour of Teachers’ Day, a fantastic celebration was orchestrated by the first-semester Computer Science Department students, along with some alumni. The event took place on September 5, 2023, which coincides with the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the former President of India. The students went all out in their preparations, decorating the classroom with balloons, flowers, and an exquisite “Happy Teachers’ Day” calligraphy on the board. Room 414 of the college was transformed into a festive space.
The students, in collaboration with their Class Representatives, organized a delightful program for the teachers. The celebration commenced with the teachers and the Department’s most senior teacher, Mr. Sanjib Halder, lighting a candle and cutting a cake. Alumni from the 2019-2022 and 2020-2023 batches also graced the occasion, adding to the joy. Everyone enjoyed the festivities, and the Class Representatives tenderly presented each teacher with a card, a rose, and a pen, accompanied by a heartfelt speech.
Once the merriment and cake-cutting concluded, the students captured the moment with a group photo alongside the teachers, some even snapping selfies. The senior-most teacher, Mr. Sanjib Halder, expressed gratitude on behalf of the teaching staff and commended the students for their efforts. The entire celebration concluded on a positive note, with radiant smiles illuminating the room.
