The Women’s Cell of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a talk on the digital platform approved by the IQAC of the College on the 10th of June 2020. The speaker Dr. Sohini Banerjee who is currently working as an independent public health researcher and consultant spoke on the issue of rising incidents of domestic violence during the Covid pandemic the world over. The title of the talk was ‘No lockdown on domestic violence during the Covid pandemic”. She spoke eloquently on the causes of the rise and also cited cases. She also touched upon the issue of domestic violence on children, adult, and men as well. The talk was hugely accepted and appreciated with participation across the country. The teacher in charge Dr. Suchandra Chakravarthy ended with the vote of thanks. The programme was moderated by Debanjana Chakravarti, Associate Prof. Dept of Political Science of the College. The entire technical support was provided by Mr. Minesh Maniar and Gargi Guha Niyogi, faculty, Department of Economics and Commerce, Evening Section.
