The Department of Electronics of science section conducted a Computer Awareness Program on 21/03/2023 at Bich Kagay Jr High School, Kagay Bazar, Kalimpong where the students of the department demonstrated a hands-on program on basic computer applications among the students of the rural school.
The event started with a total of 12 students and seven teachers of Bich Kagay Junior School along with thirteen members of our college.
Before the computer awareness programme got started the senior teacher of Bich Kagay Junior School gave a short speech of introduction. From there we got to know that this Junior School is runned by few volunteer teachers and other non teaching staff. They also provide a mid-day meal to the student.
The computer awareness programme started around 12:30 PM where the students of the Electronics Department of The Bhawanipur Education Society College demonstrated the basic working function of MS Paint, MS Word and MS Excel to the students of Bich Kagay Jr High School.The students of Electronics department communicated with the school students in a very lucid way. They demonstrated the whole program in English and Hindi. For better communication Nepali language is also used as it is the mother tongue of the school students.
The event concluded by 2:00 PM with the distribution of Certificates. This event helped the school students a lot to understand the basic working function of Microsoft Software. This event also was quite helpful to grow the leadership skills of the students of the Electronics Department, who were associated with the demonstration process.
J.D. Birla Institute –Department of Management organised their fest, Invictus 2017. This was the third consequent year the fest was held from 11th February to 12th with it’s Sports events held before hand on 6th, 7th and 8th February.
