The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted an engaging author interaction and book launch of The Unbecoming by Kartikeya Vajpai on 5 February 2026 at the College Library. The session brought together students and faculty for a thoughtful exploration of literature, spirituality, and self-discovery.
The discussion began with an interactive conversation moderated by veteran actor and author Barun Chanda, creating a lively dialogue between literature and spirituality. Vajpai reflected on his personal journey, sharing how his early spiritual experiences and background shaped the book. He also spoke about the role of cricket as a metaphor for identity, expectation, and inner enquiry, offering a unique perspective on presenting spiritual ideas through the language of sport.
The author elaborated on the central idea of The Unbecoming — the courage to unlearn, trust the present moment, and discover authenticity beyond external validation. He discussed themes of presence, flow, and self-realisation, encouraging students to reflect on their own journeys.
The session concluded with a guided meditation exercise focusing on breath awareness and inner calm. A lively question-and-answer segment followed, where students engaged the author with thoughtful and insightful questions.
The event proved to be an enriching intellectual experience, offering participants meaningful insights into writing, mindfulness, and self-discovery.
The Bhawanipur College underwent a thorough evaluation by a team of three experts from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)—Dr. HPS Chauhan, Dr. Debal Dasgupta, and Dr. Snehal Donde—visited the institution. This peer team was tasked with the responsibility of auditing the college’s standards and performance on behalf of NAAC. During their comprehensive two-day …
