Are you a budding comic, a bathroom singer, or a poet with a missing audience? The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised an open mic event on August 18, 2022 at the College Canteen. Be it stand-up comedy, singing, or poetry, the event was open to all kinds of performances.
Open Mic events are set up in open spaces where students can gather and have open discussions about a pre-planned topic. The event required all the willing speakers to share their creativity through any method, be it a music composition, a secret recipe, poetry, a story, shayeri, stand-up comedy, or a brief about their life in quarantine or their most memorable life experiences. Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of student affairs began the event with a rousing speech and recitation of a shayeri expressing his love for Chai. Through her gazals, Prof. Vasundhara Mishra managed to put together a delightful musical.
The energy and excitement were evident to the importance and popularity of these Open Mic events among Be-ites. It was a wonderful opportunity for friends to catch up with each other after the holidays in a relaxed and entertaining environment. The College Canteen was kind enough to open for the event, and the juices and snacks aided in the event being well supported.
All were welcomed to attend this event, and feel free to participate, come along and listen to some amazing talent.
Semester 6 Student, Sahil Lakhmani was grateful to be back on the final leg of the event before graduating and entering a new world, the talented actor shared his excitement about being a part of the event.
Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon. A platform where artists could express their art in true form. The crowd motivated them to give their best. We look forward to more such session giving platforms to all the fresh and upcoming talents to put the stage on fire.
