On this note, the new batch of students at National Service Scheme (NSS) BHAWANIPUR COLLEGE started off their induction programme on 14th August, 2016. The Concept Hall of Bhawanipur College was packed with hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers, who were enthused to be part of this wonderful community of dedicated students volunteers. The programme started with a speech by Urmi Patwa, a first year student who dedicated herself to the NSS club from Day 1 of College.
After an enthusiastic speech, the packed auditorium witnessed a humanitarian video on the History of NSS where various works of NSS such as literacy, Environmental Conservation, Polio Eradication and Blood Donation. The video highlighted the success of NSS, and the numbers tells us a story from 40,000 students in 1969 to 32, 00,000 in 2016 are part of the campaign.
The students witnessed a speech by Mr. Patheria, who vouched the idea of creating a database for NGOs and created various verticals for the project. Mr. Patheria was also felicitated by Mr. Miraj D. Shah, vice-chairman of BESC, who acknowledged the idea and pledged his whole-hearted support for this noble cause.
Professor Diveyesh Shah briefed the students on the “Each one Teach one” project where students teach underprivileged children and briefed about the future programme of the club which shall be an Orphanage Visit held on 27th August 2016.
Finally, Students took a pledge to abide the motto of NSS
