The Phenomenon collective of The Bhawanipur Educational Society College organised a students’ discussion session on 13th December 2021 at the college campus. The topic was “METAVERSE”, the topic which will be leading the future as assumed by many major scientists and analysts. Metaverse is a hypothesized representation of the Internet, supporting online 3-D virtual environments through conventional personal computing, as well as virtual and augmented reality headsets.
The event started the representatives of the collective, Souradipta Roy and Gourav Choudhury, giving a brief introduction on what metaverse actually is and some of their theories with which the discussion began and several participants joined in including Prof . Dilip Shah, the Dean of student affairs also presented his views. Sarvesh Mundhra, a pass out of the college was also a part of the event and equally participated by giving some jaw dropping theories on the topic .
Several theories arose amidst the discussion stating from opportunities that metaverse will provide, metaverse vs multiverse, virtual reality, links with the artificial intelligence, emergence of the metaverse, it’s future, how the reality can be at stake because of the virtual reality etc. were some of the topics and theories the students put forward out of which some were against the idea of creating a metaverse any further and some were for the impressions on the topic.
The students equally participated along with the speakers and the group discussion was an absolute success. The collective has promised many more group discussions and upcoming interactive events for the students in the upcoming future.
Some students pronounce it with a “Ph”, drawing its origin back to the Punjabi month of Phagun in the Nanakshahi calendar, while others allude to the eleventh month of the Bengali calendar named after the star Uttorfalguni, which marks the arrival of spring – the sixth and the final season in these parts of the …
