As the students of our college gears up for Nexus 2015, The Quizzardcollective organized an interactive Session with Mr. AshokeSanyal, 1987 batch student of our college. A quiz enthusiast and an active participant in all major quizzes of the city shared a word about corporate quizzing and the secrets of preparing for a quiz.
Persistence is the key to become an efficient quizzer. Quizzing is not just about amassing vast amounts of knowledge. It’s more about using your existing knowledge to make educated guesses and connects. Good quiz questions are mostly where the answer is something rather ubiquitous but the question exposes facts about it which are less known. That’s when the ‘Aha’ moment happens in quizzing. As suggested by Mr. AshokeSanyal , apart from reading any book, movie or music that you listen to, read up on it on Wikipedia and other websites on the internet. This exercise alone will make you a lot better at it. You should essentially keep your eyes and ears open all the time, keep picking up nuggets of information from any and every place possible. The idea is to be really inquisitive and curious.
Highlighting upon the business quiz, Sir discussed the major areas to be studied under the broad sector of Business Quiz. The areas that one should focus on in order to excel in corporate quizzing are as follows:

Quizzing is a game of skill and knowledge, and you can always improve your knowledge and your skills. You can improve, if you make up your mind to do so, and take some positive steps to achieve your goal. The members of Quizzard were enlightened with the various ways by which they can improve at quizzing.
Major sources of Information for a quizzer are as follows:-
Newspapers – Hindu, Economic times should be read by students daily.
Books – Quizzers should be well versed with corporate books.
Magazines – Business magazines should be read at a Regular basis.
Interest – Quizzers should develop a Niche
Make your own notes – Quizzers should maintain a note book of what they have studied.
Informal sessions – There should be informal sessions where questions will be asked among friends.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the knowledgeable session and look forward to more of such interactive meets.
