On June 28th, 2025, the Jubilee Hall of The Bhawanipur Education Society College brimmed with creativity as the visionaries and innovators from the Collective of Bhawanipur Entrepreneurship and Start-up Training (B.E.S.T.) gathered under one roof to host the 4th Bhawanipur Business Meet, or B.B.M.
The event commenced at 11 A.M. with an introduction of the Founder, Mr. Devansh Kapoor, alongside the founding members, namely Vedant Gupta, Shreyan Majhi, Abhishek Shah, Bakshish Singh, Abhiroop Sarkar, Esha Khanna, Shivani Jain, and Vedika Lalka. The event kicked off with a note of appreciation for the sponsors, followed by the Founder expressing his gratitude for the attendees’ presence despite the torrential weather conditions. Vedant Gupta, the Treasurer, disclosed that the revenue generated by B.B.M. was worth ₹70,000, urging the members to take initiative and bring in more referrals. Following this, the committee members presented their case studies on companies like Zara and LVLS, which uncovered the turbulent and uncertain road to building successful bootstrapped brands. As the session progressed, the members introduced the businesses they manage and their industry insights, which ranged from stock media traders to coffee manufacturers.
The speaker for this meet, Mr. Suchinto Tarafdar, is a lawyer and the Associate Director & Brand Manager at Joi Farm. Mr. Tarafdar shared his professional journey from a disoriented lawyer to a passionate marketeer, where he emphasised the significance of structured curiosity, highlighting that every question raised should have a clear objective and encouraging others to ask questions. He also shared insights into his first business, which involved branded content that captured his interest early on, recalling a challenging experience in which he brought in an investor after months of approaching a Tollywood celebrity. However, the investor bailed out three months later—a setback that showed him the uncertainties of life. While addressing a product-related question, he narrated that their target customers are aged 20–30, and the reason why Joi Farm refrains from shifting to tetra packages is that, by doing so, they would have to add preservatives, which would lead to negative marketing, hence affecting consumer loyalty. While answering the queries, he shed light on the company’s UGC—a quiet yet remarkable success—with a revenue of ₹1,300 crores, depicting that extravagance is not needed to achieve success.
In the end, he encouraged students to take risks and launch their own companies without waiting for the perfect timing. The event concluded with a thank-you note from our members, following which Mr. Suchinto Tarafdar was felicitated by the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah.
