College fests are always eagerly awaited. They bring with them all the crazy fun that makes college life so memorable. The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised the the most awaited inter-college fest- ‘Effervescence: Drama, Music, Dance’ on the 4th and 5th of October 2021. It was a two-day intercollegiate fest in which 10 colleges participated.
Star tennis player of the college Ms. Prapti Sen who recently won a silver medal in the International Table Tennis Tournament held in Kazakhstan was felicitated for her achievements by the dignitaries present, Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, Teacher in-Charge members of the Governing body Ms. Nalini Parekh, Mr. Jeetu Shah, Mr. Umesh Thakkar and Mr. Bulbul Shah and Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Bishambhar Newarh, Director of Taaza TV and Editor-in-Chief of ‘Chhapte Chhapte’ (a Hindi daily). In his opening remarks he congratulated the college management for collectively working and pulling off such a grand event that too in times of pandemic. He mentioned how ‘Effervescence’ is a commendable step taken by the college as it gave the students an opportunity to showcase their talents. He also congratulated sports Coach Rupesh Gandhi for encouraging and nurturing talents like Prapti Sen who make not just the college but the entire nation proud. The Flames Collective also performed at the inauguration.
There were 13 events in all. The genres of the fest that were dance, theatre and music. The name of the events are as follows- MONOACT, IMPROV, WESTERN BAND, BOARDROOM DRAMA, BOLLYWOOD BAND, GROUP DANCE WESTERN, GROUP DANCE CLASSICAL, FACE OFF, SOLO VOCAL WESTERN, SOLO VOCAL BOLLYWOOD, GROUP DANCE BOLLYWOOD, RAPPING and STREET PLAY.
The hosts demonstrated how to rock and roll in style and never fail to raise the bar. Effervescence 2021 was no exception. From music to dance to theatrics, this fest had it all! All thanks to Prof. Dilip Shah, Prof. Meenakshi Chaturvedi, Prof. Divya Udeshi and the entire organising committee for perfectly executing and doing it in style. It is because of their efforts that the fest was such a grand success. Huge thanks to all the participating colleges and sponsors for taking out the time and efforts to be a part of this event. Also, we would like to thank the panel of judges who included; Mr.Apratim Chatterjee, Mr.Saurav Goswami, Mr.Kaustav Banerjee, Mr.Aaron Targain, Mr.Anurag Ghosh, Ms.Sanchaita Munshi Saha, Ms. Debamita Sengupta, Mr.Gaurav Bindra, Dil Fake, Captain Singh A and Mr.Suprovo Tagore for their cooperation. It is the genuine toil of all that culminated in a memorable and successful event.
