To encourage and empower students for their future, The Bhawanipur Education Society College held its seminar titled “The Future Is Yours to Engineer: Navigating Disruption & Innovation” on September 15th, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. at the Concept Hall of the college. This motivational talk featured the chief guest, Commander Satyajit Roy, along with a few of his colleagues — senior commanders — in association with Youth 4 Nation.
Youth 4 Nation is a forum consisting of senior veterans, IAS and IPS officers, entrepreneurs, and senior academicians from across the country. Its mission is to reach out to the youth, particularly at the university level, share their experiences, and inspire them to secure the India of our dreams, with a focus on addressing emerging security challenges.
The session began with the host providing a brief overview of the seminar, followed by the invitation of Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, BESC, to felicitate Commander Satyajit Roy and the other commanders. Prof. Shah then shared his thoughts on the impact of social media on today’s generation, drawing a contrast between the past — when people went to war and fought for the nation — and the present, where the younger generation is often glued to their phones, with limited real-world interaction.
This was followed by Mr. Sarvesh Chandra, former Director General of West Bengal Police and President of Youth 4 Nation (Paschim Bengal Chapter), who gave a brief introduction to the organisation and welcomed the chief guest, Commander Satyajit Roy.
Commander Roy, a renowned Tactical Visionary and Veteran Indian Aviator, has 40 years of cross-cultural professional experience. He is a recognised national and international panellist and keynote speaker, having won multiple awards for leadership in security operations. With expertise in Security Operations, Risk Management, Crisis Management, and Asset Protection, he is known for building partnerships with external stakeholders, law enforcement, and government agencies. He excels at implementing innovative security strategies for new ventures, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
Commander Roy’s energy was infectious, inspiring the entire audience. He advised the youth on several aspects of life and spoke about the concept of positive disruption. He encouraged students to build stronger real-life connections instead of relying solely on social media, explaining that real-world experiences lead to more meaningful outcomes. He urged the students never to forget the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and reminded them that it is their duty to honour those struggles by making every effort count.
The commanders also shared real-life incidents from their time in service — moments when they defended the nation, acted as protectors, and upheld their duty with pride. Their words deeply resonated with everyone present, leaving the students motivated and inspired to think about their future with renewed purpose.
This motivational talk proved to be an impactful and memorable session — one hour and fifteen minutes of inspiration from Commander Satyajit Roy and his fellow commanders that left an indelible mark on the students.
