The Department of History conducted an interdepartmental quiz entitled ‘Quiz Pro Quo’ on 6th May, 2023 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The departments of Sociology, English and Political Science, History and Journalism and Mass Communication participated in the two-hour event which witnessed the students battle it out amongst themselves. Twenty-five students participated in the quiz and were divided into five groups – A, B, C, D and E.
Five rounds of questions were prepared with the students quizzed on various topics – from history and current affairs to literature and movies. A final rapid fire round found the students engaged in the most fascinating manner. Team A emerged as the ultimate winners with a very high score. To make the quiz participative, audience questions were also set with both students and teachers winning chocolates with every correct answer.
The quiz ended as a flourishing success and all students were awarded with certificates for participation and notepads and journals. The winners were awarded with special medals to commemorate their victory.
The Department would like to extend its very warm gratitude to Professor Arup Ratan Samajdar for graciously accepting to don the quizmaster’s hat and Professor Sanmitra Dutta for all the technical help provided without which the event would not have been successful. The Department would also take the opportunity to convey its thanks to the college administration for their untiring support.
