the Department of Sociology of The Bhawanipur Education Society College had organised a grand ceremony of book launch of an edited volume titled: “Cultural Potions: The Magic of Everyday life”. The volume is jointly edited by Shreya Bhattacharya and Diptava Sarkar, faculty members of the Department and assisted by the other faculty members of the Department. Prof. Prasanta Roy, Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Presidency University and Dr. Gayatri Bhattacharyya, retired professor of Sociology, University of Calcutta had presided over the programme as chief speakers. The programme started with an opening note of Prof. Debjani Ganguly, Vice Principal of Arts Section of the college. The Rector of our college Prof. Dilip Shah also presided over the programme and shared his valuable comments on the published volume. Prof. Roy and Prof. Bhattacharyya shared engrossing scholarly views about the subject matter of the book. Their valuable insites has enriched us to develop upon the role of editor. Many of the contributors of the edited volume had participated in the programme. The book launch ceremony ended with a vote of thanks.
