Objective of the event: All round development of the personality of the students which includes apart from academic excellence, the spirit of punctuality, discipline, leadership and teamwork
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science organised a Prize Distribution Ceremony under Academic and Disciplinary Measures for Semester III Major Students (ADM) on February 7, 2026. The department also organised a seminar on ‘The Role of the Election Commission of India and Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls’on the same day in Jubilee Hall.The proceedings of the prize distribution ceremony commenced with Amala Dhandhania, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science explaining the parameters of the Academic and Disciplinary Measures on which the students were judged and awarded. The Prizes were awarded by distinguished speakers like Dr. Biswanath Chakraborty, Professor, Rabindra Bharati University, Professor Bimal Sankar Nanda, Associate Professor, Charuchandra College,Shree Pramit Kumar Ray, Senior Advocate, Calcutta High Court, Shree Tirthnakar Das, Bureau Chief, Dainik Bhaskar
The following prizes and recognitions were given out:
Highest Class Attendance in all papers based on the average of attendance in three papers of Political Science Major DSCC3,DSCC4, SEC3 – Sonail Ghosh
Best Performer in Continuous Internal Assessment – Vayun Ratna
Best Daily Individual Performance in Class – T. Rakshita
Prize for the Highest Score in Academic Quiz – Vayun Ratna
Highest Score in Semester II Calcutta University Examination,2025 – Tanisha Mukherjee
Second Highest Score in Semester II Calcutta University Examination,2025 – Inna Khan Aamna
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the event based on the students’ feedback is quite positive. Students expressed satisfaction with the current criteria and appreciated the initiative by the department.
