Objective of the Event: The objective of the event was to create an awareness on the importance of fundamental Duties as the moral obligations of all citizens to help promote a spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India.
Brief Description of the Event: The Department of Political Science along with the Department of Sociology and the NSS unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, conducted an awareness session on the Fundamental Duties of India which held at All Bengal Women’s Union, Elliot Road, Kolkata on 23.09.2024. The session was conducted by the respective Professors of The Department of Political Science, Prof. Lopamudra Majumdar, Prof. Dona Ganguly, Prof. Trisha Chatterjee, Prof. Sohini Chattopadhyay. The first part of the program centred around a presentation on the importance and objective of the 11 Fundamental Duties as the moral obligations of all citizens to promote a spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. The second part of the programme involved distribution of food packets and bed sheets for the residents of Shakti Sadan, a Home for destitutes.
Outcome of the Event: The event was a successful one. The students of the home actively participated in the awareness session. The elder members of the Home along with the students appreciated the effort of the Professors to conduct such an awareness session on Fundamental Duties of India. The event encouraged to bring positivity and enrich the lives of the students of the Home to become a responsible citizen of India.
