Objective of the event: To foster interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reflection among faculty on contemporary themes in politics, globalization, culture, and security, enhancing academic collaboration and generating insights for policy and research.
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science successfully organized a faculty seminar on December 6, 2025, bringing to discuss contemporary themes in politics, culture, and international relations. The event witnessed engaging discussions and critical insights from five distinguished faculty members, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and academic enrichment. Anushka Banerjee examined the interplay between globalization and corporate governance frameworks in India, focusing on regulatory challenges and reforms post-2000. Trisha Chatterjee explored the cultural impact of Korean pop culture (K-Wave) in India, linking it to globalization and identity shifts. Dr. Dhritiman Mukherjee critically assessed decades of strained India-Pakistan ties, emphasizing trust deficits and conflict flashpoints (Kashmir, terrorism). Abhilash Roy analyzed India’s 2020 withdrawal from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and its strategic implications with ASEAN partners. Dr. Dona Ganguly dissected ethnic conflicts in Manipur (Meitei vs. Kuki/Zo tribes), framing human insecurity amid insurgency and state responses.
Outcome of the event: The seminar bridged theory and real-world challenges, equipping participants with frameworks to analyze globalization, identity politics, and security dilemmas while catalyzing future collaborations.The seminar also underscored interdisciplinary intersections—economics, culture, geopolitics, and human rights—within political science. Common threads included globalization’s paradoxes, identity politics, and institutional trust.
On 22nd August 2016, a horde of students gathered at the Concept Hall to know the relevance of ancient wisdom in present era.The speaker, Dr. Gaurav Chandra Dutt (IPS),guided the students.He captured their attention by presenting the world scenario in front of them,slowly he moved to national scenario and finally he moved to individual.
