Objective of the event: To encourage local community participation and sense of responsibility in preserving Ganga’s heritage and showcase the impact of collective efforts in maintaining a clean environment through the cleanliness drive.
Brief description of the event: The NSS under the guidance of Dr. Snehal Donde, Chairperson, SKECT and World Water Council, organized a Ganga Heritage Preservation Initiative. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of keeping Ganga ghats clean and promote community involvement. The event began with a rally, where volunteers walked along the banks of the river with placards to spread mass awareness about the significance of maintaining clean Ganga ghats. A cleanliness drive was conducted at Panihati Ferry Ghat, demonstrating the impact of collective efforts in maintaining a clean environment.
Outcome of the event: The event encouraged community involvement, promoting a sense of responsibility among locals through survey to preserve Ganga heritage.
The Department of English organized a series of Fortnightly Lectures on Literary Theory for the final semester students of the Undergraduate and the Postgraduate courses, in March-April 2022.
