IDBI Federal Life Insurance organised Kolkata Marathon 2016 on 6th of March #RunForKolkata aim of encouraging the all-round development of individuals and promoting health and fitness. A team of 170 students from The Bhawanipur Education Society College participated in this event.
It started at 6:30 in the morning started from the Red Road and had a race category of 5 kms, 10 kms and 42 kms. The chief guests who were present for supporting the Marathon was actor Parambrata Chatterjee, Abir Chatterjee, June Malia, Saswata Chatterjee , and Indian fashion designer Agnimitra Paul. Our students participated in 5 kms and 10 kms categories. The team of BESC for Kolkata Marathon was led by Krishna Sharma. Students won medals and certificates. It was a great event overall and the students had lot of fun participating in the event. The proceed raised from the Marathon are to be handed over to an initiative NGO called “Kolkata Gives”.
