7.Objective of the event: To develop students’ writing,analytical and creative thinking skills .
8.Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science organized an Inter-College Essay Writing Competition for all Undergraduate students of Science and Arts stream from all colleges, on the theme – “75 Years of Indian Republic: Reimagining the Constitution” on 28th June,2024.Forty students from various colleges in Kolkata had registered for the competition.The results were announced on 22nd July,2024 by Prof. Amala Dhandhania during the National Seminar on “Understanding the Legal System” .The students who secured positions were awarded by the distinguished guests- Mrs. Soma Kar Ghosh, Advocate, Mrs. Suchana Banerjee,Advocate and Mr. Saket Chaudhary,Advocate and their names are as follows:
1st Position- Akshaya Venkateswaran, Semester 6,The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
2nd Position-Manu Kumar Gupta, Semester 4,The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
2nd Position-Rupanjana Nundy, Semester 4,The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
3rd Position-Ambareen Tarique, Semester 2, Seth Soorajmull Jalan College.

9.Outcome of the event: The students were able to improve their writing skills. They analyzed the positive and negative aspects of the Indian Constitution.They also provided their suggestions and ideas to improve the Constitution for the growth and development of India.
