“Research is formalized curiosity, it is poking and prying with a purpose.”, this quote is the perfect assimilation of the Seminar held on 15th May, 2023 from 10:30 am onwards at Jubilee Hall of The Bhawanipur College. The event was organized by Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator BCom Morning & Prof. Ibrahim Hussain (Coordinator) of the event. The topic of the seminar was Research Methodology for Project & Assignment. The panel constituted of two speakers, the first being Prof. Rahul Sarkar, who is currently associated with The Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, and the second being Prof. (Dr.) Tutun Mukherjee, who is currently associated with St. Xaviers University as an Assistant Professor.
The Seminar commenced with Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs sharing his wisdom and profound knowledge about the importance of Research paper and how it has and will revolutionize the ages to come. This was followed by a Felicitation ceremony by Prof. Shah. The first speaker of the event, Mr. Sarkar, in his speech, addressed the intricate details of the Research paper methodology, he covered each and every important factor which relates to research paper methodology like Primary data, secondary data, Descriptive Statistics, and so on and so forth. Right from the meaning of the research paper to the types of research paper and the layout of the research paper, was simply remarkable the way he addressed the audience.
The second speaker of the event was Mr. Mukherjee, he majorly emphasized on the statistical part of the research paper which is the backbone of the research paper methodology, and did an in-depth analysis of statistics and its various constituents for a better understanding of the audience. Through his analysis, various types of statistics and ways of analyzing data were explained. Then there was a demonstration session of Data Analysis through MS Excel, which was one of the highlights of the event. Given the technological era which we are in, it is of utmost importance for students to adapt to technological advancements which pave their way to success.
To conclude, the event ended with a vote of thanks to the Department of Commerce for their contribution to this event.
