Objective of the event: This first series is intended to help the students gather ideas about job prospects in the electronics industry – semiconductor industries in specific and set goals to step into it starting from academia.
Brief description of the event: The resource person from Tagore Technology, Ms. Chayantika Bhattacharya, stresses the necessity of learning the practical know-how of the theoretical knowledge gained in undergraduate curriculum. Side by side, Mr. Shashi Shaw from Intel Corporation elucidated the importance of electronic design automation in analyzing the throughput of a completed electronic model. Both the resource persons were of the opinion that the application of theory is something that drives the industries and the source of industrial sustenance is continuous innovation at the application level.
The outcome of the event: Out of 95 students, 18 were from schools who came to quench their curiosity about a career trajectory based on semiconductor industry. They were eager to know about the tools that are needed to be learned in addition to the regular courses for preparation for a career in the semiconductor industry. Overall, the students were satisfied with the interaction and the resource persons were pleased to address all the queries.

Umang 2014 hosted the event ‘Debate’ in which 11 colleges participated. Debate was one of the most interesting events of Umang. The event started at 10:30am in the auditorium. The topic of debate was ‘Struggle is not necessary for success’. The time allotted to each speaker was three minutes and an additional one minute.
