When the need for academicians and professionals comes into view to build a bridge between college life and career life then the necessity of an alumni meet occurs. With that view in mind, the department of Electronics, of The Bhawanipur Education Society College arranged alumni meet on the 18th of November, 2022. We all know that after completing three years of graduation every student will either seek higher education or take any other profession. Therefore, to get a clear-cut idea for our future, the students must learn from their seniors, who have successfully planned their future and are working on it.
The venue of the meeting was the Society Hall of the Bhawanipur Education Society College. The program was initiated at 12:30 pm. All the faculty members of the science section were invited to this event along with their respective students. The hall was almost fully occupied by the students, teachers, and other faculty members. The curiosity of the students to learn something new for their future was clearly visible in their eyes.
The event started with the inaugural address by the Dean of Science, Dr. Samir Kanti Datta. At the beginning of his address, The Dean of Science iterated on the advantages of choosing science for higher studies and then marks out the sizable infrastructure of the science departments of our college. In the end, he praised the alumni and blessed them with their future. Thereafter, the Vice- Principle of Science, Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, gave a short felicitation speech indicating the alumni members present at the event.
The host introduced the first two alumni members, Arpita Das and Sushweta Adhya who have recently completed their graduation in Electronics from this college. Arpita Das is pursuing a Master’s in Electronics from Jadavpur University whereas, Sushweta Adhya is pursuing a Master’s in Electronic Science from Calcutta University, Rajabazar campus. They gave a joint lecture. Their lecture began with an introductory note and described how they got the chance to join these two reputed institutions. They described the admission process and entrance exams for joining these institutes. It was more than a normal lecture and motivated the juniors a lot.
The next alumni member was Suresh Chowrasia who completed his graduation in Electronics with flying colors, in 2021. He has recently joined ITC Limited in a capacity much related to his subject of graduation. Similar to the other alumni members, the lecture given by him was more than a normal lecture.
The present alumni members were felicitated with tokens of appreciation by the departmental teachers of Electronics, Physics, and Computer Science. Our students were inspired and the students from other departments who gathered for the event were also inspired by their success stories. The students now have an idea of what to choose as their career.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the host upholding an exemplary optimism for recreating this event year after year.
