The Sports Department of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, also known as the Power-Hour collective of BESC, organised the Arm Wrestling Tournament for both boys and girls on 17th September 2025, from 9:00 A.M. onwards, to select the best arm wrestlers of the college. All the arm-wrestling enthusiasts gathered around the venue — the college turf — to witness the showdown. The event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Bhavin Parmar, Sports Officer at BESC, and Mr. David Khan, a state-level 90 kg gold medallist and Wrestling Head Coach of BESC, who is also associated with the West Bengal Arm Wrestling Association.
The tournament was categorised based on weight classes. For the boys, there were four categories: below 65 kg, 65–74 kg, 75–84 kg, and 85 kg & above. For the girls, the categories included below 65 kg, 65 kg & above, and the Open Category which was not restricted to any weight. The rules of the game were simple: each player was allowed two fouls, and stability of hand and leg stance was mandatory.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation, with the turf filled with students eager to cheer for their favourites and watch who would finally claim the top spots. The event began with the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, taking the stage and motivating the participants with his words. This was followed by a friendly arm-wrestling match between Prof. Shah and David Khan, in which Prof. Shah emerged victorious — much to the delight of the crowd.
Following this lively start, the tournament officially began, starting with the boys’ categories and then moving on to the girls’. With every round, the matches grew more intense as the spectators cheered and clapped loudly, creating a charged atmosphere. It was truly a battle of strength, power, and sheer determination!
Finally, the tournament crowned its champions — the strongest arms of BESC.
