The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organized its 6th Edition of The Edu Meet & Education Excellence Awards 2023 on 18th January at the Phoenix Hall of Hotel Hindusthan International in Kolkata. The event formally began at 10.30 am with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education & External Affairs, Government of India who in his thought-provoking speech, highlighted the growing need to adopt technology in Education. The Edu Meet was initiated by the hon’ble minister who inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp, in the shared presence of all the dignitaries on stage. Following the Welcome address, at the Inaugural, Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, represented the college in his address highlighting the methods in which we (The Bhawanipur College) have gone ahead with Industry Academia linkage, making Higher Education more relevant and thus more effective in the current times.
The event saw a host of other dignitaries addressing the audience from other Educational Institutes. After the speakers, the Guest of Honour, Prof (Dr.) Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of National Educational Technology Forum, Government of India, spoke of the earnest efforts taken by the Government to take initiatives in the Higher Education sector. Post his address, the ASSOCHAM Knowledge Report which talks of “The Road Ahead – Changing Dynamics of Education Sector” was released by the Guest. Following this, the Sectoral Leaders were felicitated by The Chief Guest, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh where The Bhawanipur Education Society College, being represented by Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, was awarded with a trophy for the ‘Best Institute for Promoting Industry Academia Linkage’, by the Minister himself.
The event also saw the dignitaries participating & attending the 3 Technical Sessions of which, under Plenary II, Prof. Shah Moderated the session on ‘Higher Education System in India: Moving towards Global Competitiveness, Technology Innovation Hub in Universities, Academic Partnerships’ which saw a host of speakers from various Universities, including Prof. Biswajit Ghosh, VC, The Neotia University; Dr. Dipankar Bhattacharyya, Pro -Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Adamas University; Prof (Dr) Satyajit Chakrabarti, Chancellor, University of Engineering & Management and Mr. Ranabir Ray, Group Asst. Director, NIPS Hospitality Group. After the third Plenary Session the event concluded with the ASSOCHAM Award Ceremony, in the presence of Prof. (Dr) Sahasrabudhe who presented The Edu Meet concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by ASSOCHAM in the presence of the various educationists of the city.
A new phase of Bhawanipur named AIESEC Bhawanipur a student exchange program was introduced in our college on the 7th of October in the college auditorium. Prof Dilip Shah introduced what AIESEC is all about and also introduced the two speakers for the following program, Mr. Mal and Mr. Zubin Rashid.
