A Faculty Development Programme is designed to bridge the gap in quality research and teaching skills that are required in contemporary management education in India.
The Bhawanipur Education Society College has been committed to excellence in education, research, and training, as well as the utilisation of contemporary participant-centric pedagogies and teaching methodologies, in order to achieve its purpose of creating a presence in developing areas of education.
To assist the faculty members in providing the finest educational experiences and continual growth, The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a Faculty Development Programme on the afternoon of 18th December, 2021 in the Google Meet platform for Faculties from the Department of Business Administration and Department of Economics on ‘Socio Economic Writing on Development Issues’.
Dr. Shiladitya Chatterjee, the resource person, addressed the distinguished faculty. Dr. Chatterjee has taught at St. Stephens College as well as universities like Massachusetts and Boston. He was a former IAS officer who worked in Assam’s grassroot development, the Asian Development Bank’s Poverty Unit and UNDP-ESCAP Coordinator, Economic Reforms at PMO Advisor, and UN-ESCAP on Regional Cooperation for SDGs.
Professor Dr. Suman Kr Mukerjee being one of the dignitaries gave the opening remarks for the Faculty Development Programme which was followed by an introduction of the Resource Person Dr. Shiladitya Chatterjee.
The programme began with Dr. Chatterjee’s inaugural speech, in which he provided a comprehensive overview of socioeconomic research using two powerful examples: an EPW study on growth, inequality, and social effects, and an Arthaniti article on Bengal’s Economic Legacy Since Independence.
He even used Simple and Multiple Regression Analysis to highlight the significance of Social Protection.
He brought the programme to a close by using Simple and Multiple Regression Analysis to discuss his own report on ‘West Bengal’s economic legacy since independence and future prospects.’
In the end, Faculty from The Bhawanipur Education Society College talked with the Resource Person in a question-and-answer session where they were allowed to ask whatever queries they had and were enlightened.
Dr. Tridib Sengupta brought the programme to a conclusion with a Vote of Thanks to Dr. Shiladitya Chatterjee, who represented as the Faculty Development Program’s Resource Person.
