Formed in the year 2002, Young Indians (Yi) is a movement for Indian Youth to converge, lead, co-create and influence India’s future, the voice of Young Indians globally. As an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry managed organization playing a proactive role in India’s development process.
Like every year once again they were back with their Yi Gala meet, themed Fashion, conceptualized by the member engagement committee of the Yi, Kolkata Chapter. The event was organized at Swabhumi Rangmanch, Kolkata on the 1st of February 2020. All the guest and members sizzled on the Red Carpet decked in their glamorous outfits.
The event was welcomed by the Yi Kolkata Chapter Chair Mr. Rajat Sarawgi followed by Yi Gala Award show. Yi Kolkata Chapter teams Masoom, Kol Konnect, Gao were felicitated for their all-round the year events and activities. The event sponsors and the team members performed a drama on the vertical that Yi supports. The drama educated the crowd to why one should join hands in conserving trees and reducing pollution and to say no to plastics.
Ms.Saini Raj performed an open mic which was followed by awarding the best-dressed male and female and a couple of the evening, followed by a musical band performance.
Yi divides itself through thousands of impactful projects and activities primarily into three areas; “Youth Leadership”, “Nation Building” and “Thought Leadership”.With seventeen years of glorious past and decades ahead that promise nothing short, Yi intends to become a larger movement of young people with a conviction in “We Can, We Will”.
