Francis Bacon once said, “ Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man.” On 22nd July, 2019 from 10 am onwards the ‘Placement Hall’ was abuzz with students from divergent streams like B.A, B.COM, BBA, ARTS and B.A English Honours. The event ‘Creative Writing Workshop’ was organised to generate within students an interest for writing and also introduce the participants to the joy of it.
The session primarily focussed on incorporating awareness among the young minds to cultivate the habit. In former times creativity was an attribute of the selective few, but this event intended to establish the fact that the art of writing something based on the creative appetite can be achieved with perpetual practice.
The event started by welcoming the faculty, CA Amar Agarwal in the presence of Professor Dilip Shah. The inauguration was eventually followed by an amazing discourse by CA Amar Agarwal regarding creative writing and how students can acquire the habit of writing devoutly. The moot point of his lecture was how everyone should reflect themselves in the form of writing. Moreover, he emphasized on using senses and emotions in order to create a strong image in the readers’ mind. This process will also expand their opportunities for a multifaceted career in the long run.
Following the question answer session from the part of the bunch of enthusiasts, the honourable guest ended his speech with a summed up advice for the spirited crowd. According to the Guest of Honour, writing is the most important part of life but creative writing brings the challenge closer because it forbids imitation. The more we write, the more will our creative dearth be satiated. The Guest of Honour was overwhelmed witnessing the eagerness of the enthusiastic students to learn more and more about creative writing. He appreciated the college for having organised such an event and expressed his earnest hope for more such events to turn up. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by a student Bansari Hindocha.
