The afternoon began with a round of introduction and applause. This was followed by the screening of the film. The thought provoking nature of the film resulted in a lively round of discussion and interaction. The students shared their experience of making the film, things they learned in the process and the challenges they had faced so far. The participants especially the teachers led by prof. Debjani Ganguly, were extremely encouraging on their part.
The afternoon came to a close with the felicitation. Each of the students was called out. A trophy in recognition of their efforts was handed by the chief guest of the event, the respected Vice Principal, Arts Prof. Debjani Ganguly. The event ended with formal and informal photo sessions and some cakes and mojitos.
Outcome of the Event: This event marked an unprecedented achievement by a group of Film Studies students from the college. Having made a film under different constraints and restrictions, they had applied themselves at the highest possible level to compete at international film festivals. The screening, discussion and felicitation was a required note of encouragement further pushing their insight, creativity and resourcefulness in the right direction.
