On 16th September (Saturday) Department of Bengali of The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted a book-launch program in College Library. The Book named ‘Sthabdha Chinmoy Bhabloke/ Bibhutibhusan: Fire Dekha’ is an anthology of well-researched articles on famous Bengali writer Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. This book has been edited by two of the college faculties from Bengali Deaprtment; Dr Kasturi Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Mili Samaddar and according to editors, this book is an outcome of the Seminar on Bibhutibhusan held in 2020, where several academicians from different institutions contributed their thoughts on the same topic. This book launch event was participated mainly by college faculties, library members and a few invited delegates like Rusoti Sen, Tapas Basu (Publisher) and so on. The whole program was anchored by Dr. Kasturi Mukhopadhyay who explained the experiences of the journey of making the book possible and introduced with the dignitaries on the stage to the audience. The dignitaries on the stage were Prof. Rusoti Sen (Professor and Expert on Bibhutibhusan), Prof. Debjani Ganguly (Vice-Principal, The Bhawanipur Education Society College), Prof. Tathagata Sen (Professor and IQAC, The Bhawanipur Education Society College), Mr. Tapas Basu (Publisher). After the introduction, the program was inaugurated by a melodious singing of Prof. Puspita Gangopadhyay (Department of Statistics, BESC), followed by the official book launch by dignitaries on the stage. After the formal book launch, Prof. Rusoti Sen expressed her views on Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. She said that we must break the stereotyped view about Bibhutibhusan only as a nature lover writer and we should explore his humanitarian write-ups too. Prof. Debjani Ganguly praised the initiatives of Bengali Department’s endeavour to have resulted such a nice book along with thanking all other members who worked for this book. Prof. Tathagata Sen extended his well wishes for the success of this book in few words. Mr. Tapas Basu, the publisher, thanked College for giving him opportunities to publish such nice and valuable work. This program of about 40 minutes was ended by vote of thanks given by Dr. Mili Samaddar followed by a small refreshment for the participants and audience.
