The industrial tour committee of the Department of Commerce (Afternoon and Evening Section) organised an industrial tour from the 6th to 11th June 2023. 42 students of different semesters were accompanied by seven teachers and mentors for the visit. The Tour gave an opportunity to all to gain an insight into the production, packaging, branding, marketing procedures, waste management and labour benefits offered by Happy Valley Tea Estate and Matelli Tea Estate. They also gained knowledge on the varying climatic conditions and manufacturing processes associated with manufacturing of both Darjeeling Tea and CTC tea. This Tour also gave an opportunity to the students to develop leadership qualities and interpersonal skills apart from giving them an in-depth understanding of the operation of two major types of Tea manufacturing organizations.
