The day, every student waits for, upon entering the college. A day when each Fresher walks in confidently to witness their college for the first time ever! The Bhawanipur College was all set to welcome the Freshers to the Orientation Programme 2k21, with all pomp and grandeur.
Over four days, in various batches of up to 100 students each, they were welcomed to the college to attend the same. The registrations started in the Valia Hall with their ID cards being scanned. Following, they were accompanied by the seniors to the Concept Hall where the main programme was to be held. The students made their way to the hall through the 6th floor corridor, on both sides of which, various collective banners were put up. On the commencement of the programme, a quick tour of the college was presented through a video clip. Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs addressed the young minds with his warm welcome note. The crowd was full of zest with the air of excitement abounding them as they interacted with the Dean. As he spoke about the different Collectives a quick clipping was played featuring all the Collective members and their Representatives welcoming and pervading them with their respective activities. The set of 17 collectives included were– NSS, NCC, Art In Me, Enact, Flames, Crescendo, Fashionista, Expressions, BEST, Eco for Be-Ites, Phenomenon, Students Skill Share, SETU, Quizzard, BESC AON, VOX Populi and Bull’s Eye. Other professors and some eminent personalities were invited to address the freshers. Prof. Meenakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator B.Com morning department enlightened the students about life ethics and in general, a robust college life. Prof. Divya Udeshi got the students rolling to join the collective and be a part of the team. She highlighted the various activities that the college encompasses.
The session was followed by the introduction to the 14-short- and long-term certification courses called Career Connect courses which included ACCA, CFP, Digital Marketing, Dynamics of Capital Market etc. and not to forget GST and Tally. A Google forms was filled up by students so that their zeal can be rightly channelised, which was the very objective of the Orientation, to delve into ‘Limitless Possibilities’ at The Bhawanipur College – “To Explore, Engage and Excel in areas of your passion and career advancement”. Each orientation session was followed by an energetic performance by the collective i.e., Dance, Theatre, Music. The programme came to an end with a vigorous loud cheer “Hey BESC!” to which the students responded…… “What’s Up!!!!”
Indeed, the four days, were a Grand success. All the students were very enthusiastic about the fresh beginning of their new college life overcoming the pandemic situation.
BESC took part in the IIHM fest, and as usual, won the hearts of the crowd. The overall winner’s trophy going to BESC, was a foregone conclusion!
