‘One of the key functional areas of a business is marketing.’
Marketing consists of all the things that a company does to identify customers’ needs and design products and services that meet those needs. It includes promoting goods and services, determining how they will be delivered, and developing a pricing strategy to capture market share while remaining competitive.
As marketing is an essential subject for every business administration student, the BBA department of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised an event called ‘The Office’ on the afternoon of November 10th, 2021. Participants in this event were allowed to exhibit their problem-solving skills by solving marketing case studies.
The participants together formed groups of bright, skilled ideas showcasing their talents. With the current conditions in mind, proper safety precautions were followed when the participants came to the campus for this offline event. Professor Chiranjib Mitra and Professor Jayjit Chakraborty, our faculty members, were asked to judge the event for their exceptional domain expertise.
The students were asked to prepare PowerPoint presentations presenting their solutions to the cases they were assigned. The 3 case studies were Kellogs, Snapdeal and Dunkin’ Doughnuts.
The Emcee of the event, Khushi Soni gave away the rules and regulations for the contest. The event consisted of 1 round where all the participants came up one by one and presented their solutions with the help of the PowerPoint presentations they had beautifully made. Each was given a time duration of 3+1 minutes to present their solutions, followed by a question/answer series by the judges.
The event was a great learning experience; all the participants participated enthusiastically and gave brilliant logical reasoning to prove their points. The judges to were pleased with all the presentations and gave positive feedback about the event and the participants.
Gradually the event neared its end as all the participants were done with their presentations. The emcee then called the judges to give their final views on the entire event. They also gave the participants a few tips to help them in their future events. The judges were then presented with hampers as the day came to an end. Our respected Professor Kaushik Banerjee, the Events Teacher Coordinator, then disclosed the winner and runner up for the competition.
