One of the most engaging events kicked off at 11:25 A.M. in the Jubilee Hall of the college campus. The event welcomed our guest speakers, who represented our event sponsors, Mr. Anubrata Chatterjee from Anmol Industries, Ms. Shweta Kaushal, and Mr. Sayak Mukherjee from creator cult. Before the start of the event, Prof. Nitin Charturvedi briefed the students on the guidelines that were to be followed during the competition and advised them to utilize their creativity at best.
The Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, welcomed the attendees and addressed the engagement that comes with content creation, and encouraged them to take part in the competition of crafting engaging reels using the products of our sponsor, Anmol. Following this, he announced the launch of a new collective, Scroll Squad, which would prioritize social media engagement for BESC, to which the crowd reacted by chanting our college slogan. Additionally, he felicitated our guest speakers with a memento.
Mr. Anubrata was the keynote speaker for the day, he elaborated on FMCG products, the first moving consumer goods like brushes, chocolates, and more. To remind the crowd of the importance of catchy taglines, he provided relevant examples of some of the most popular brands and their products. Using animation, he narrated the labour that went into building an established brand like Anmol, with a reported turnover of over 1600 crores, and discussed the current aims of the company. He emphasized the importance of knowing your target audience, highlighting that the strategies effective for Gen Z might not resonate with millennials. He discussed the guidelines for the competition where the participants had to make a reel with a clean background, keeping the products visible, well-framed shots, and catchy taglines. The winner would have the opportunity to collaborate as official influencers for the upcoming campaigns.
The name of the mystery influencer was revealed who was, Mr. Ujjwal Kedia, who had shot a video delivering his message about the value of positive content creation and the impact of consistency.
Creator Cult head, Mr.Shayak, with experience of over two decades in this sector, spoke about the meaning of content creation and the magnitude of personal branding. Using the example of Shark Tank India judges, he outlined the prominence of a personal brand to help boost the sales of the company. He stressed that regardless of the number of followers, posting on social media inherently makes us content creators.
Prof.Nitin Chaturvedi shared his journey from introversion to being open to opportunities and introduced the influencers from our college with a collective followership of over a lakh, Roheal Jaiswal and Tanishqa Roy. While narrating their journey, they answered questions of the crowd like the importance of niche in content creation, whether one should be loyal to one niche or be dynamic while creating content, the key to increasing followers, and getting paid collaborations.
Ms.Shweta, an alumna of the college and a pageant queen, emphasized the importance of authenticity, maintaining professionalism, and adhering to deadlines. She invited the attendees to participate in an interactive exchange of ideas. Questions were raised on the most preferred content, to which she responded that it hinges on individual strengths.
Following this, hampers were distributed among the attendees, which contained Anmol products, using which they were supposed to post reels. The event ended on a fun note with the Creator Cult’s head distributing chocolates among the people who could provide fun taglines on the spot.
