An invited lecture on “Key issues in Gender Sensitization” by Ms. Seema Sreeniwas was organised by the Internal Complaints Committee in collaboration with IQAC, The Bhawanipur Education Society College on 24th December,2021 @ 1:00 p.m. There were around 50 participants which included faculty, students and staff of the college from various sections.
The programme started with a welcome address by the Presiding Officer of the committee, Dr. Joyeta Bhadury. It was followed by an opening address by the Co-ordinator, IQAC, Prof. Tathagata Sen. The speaker was introduced by Prof. Atreyee Ganguly, member of ICC. The speaker deliberated on the reasons for gender being an issue of concern in India and the root causes for gender discrimination. She ended on a positive note highlighting on the signs of change visible in the society and enlightened the participants about being sensitive to the issues of gender equality to ensure healthy development of the society. There was an interactive session at the end of her presentation, where students and faculty participated and Ms.Sreeniwas threw light on several burning issues related to the topic under discussion.
