Brief description of the activity: Our recent industrial visit and excursion to Visakhapatnam was a profoundly enriching experience, offering a unique blend of technical knowledge and scenic exploration. During the visit to Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL Ltd.), the students gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of shipbuilding and repair, witnessing firsthand the hull body shop, hydraulic process, painting, fabrication, and repairing facilities. Complementing our industrial visit, our excursion to various scenic spots, including Ramakrishna Beach, Yarada Beach, Rushikonda Beach, Kailashgiri, Padmapuram Gardens & Tribal Museum in Araku Valley, and Borra Caves, left us mesmerized by the natural beauty of Visakhapatnam. The trip provided a unique blend of technical knowledge and recreational activities. Overall, this trip not only broadened our technical horizons but also created lifelong memories.
Outcome of the activity: The industrial visit and excursion to Visakhapatnam was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of providing practical exposure to the shipbuilding and repair industry, fostering teamwork and leadership skills, and promoting a deeper understanding of the industry. Students gained valuable insights into the technical aspects of shipbuilding and repair, while also developing essential life skills through interactive and recreational activities. The trip created lifelong memories and inspired students to pursue careers in the maritime industry.
