“Hands on Physical Chemistry Laboratory Experiments and Instrumentation: Maintenance and Use” in collaboration with Equiptronics and in association with Physical Chemistry Teachers’ Forum (PCTF) of Universities of West Bengal
The Department of Chemistry of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized an one day workshop on “Hands on Physical Chemistry Laboratory Experiments and Instrumentation: Maintenance and Use” in collaboration with Equiptronics and in association with Physical Chemistry Teachers’ Forum (PCTF) of Universities of West Bengal on 20th July, 2019. In the inaugural session welcome address was given by one of the convenors of the programme Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, The BES College, Kolkata. The theme of the workshop delivered by Dr. Samir Kanti Dutta, Vice-Principal (Sc.), The BES College, Kolkata. Prof. Ambikesh Mahapatra, Convenor, PCTF conveyed an introduction about the “Physical Chemistry Teacher’s Forum” (PCTF). Dr. Priyotosh Dutta, Associate Professor, Anando Mohon College, Kolkata, Memeber, PCTF enlightened the audience about the importance of the workshop and lastly Mr. Mustafa Badshah, Chief Advisor to CEO, Equiptronics, Mumbai Presented the instrumentation, Maintenance and application of various instruments.
The Practical Session – I and II of the workshop demonstrated by Mr. Ibrahim Khambati, Technical Coordinators and Mr. Ahmed Badshah, Technical Assistant, Equiptronics, Mumbai. Around 100 participants (Teachers and students) of various Colleges and Universities in West Bengal participated in this workshop. Some eminent professors of the University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University were also present on that day to enrich all by imparting their expert thinking. The students of 3rd year (H) and SEM III(H) of the Department of our college were involved as volunteer to demonstrate the working principle of the instruments. Then a long group discussion and question answer session was there to understand the utility of the whole day programme. Lastly the valedictory session was followed by the certificate distribution to the participants. The workshop was very successful from the view point of handling various advanced and sophisticated instruments of chemistry.
