The Internal Complaints Committee of the college organized a seminar on “Gender Narrative in Indian Society – Life Skill Approach”, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college and supported by Ummeed, on 13th September 2022. There were 20 students and 28 faculty and staff participants in the seminar. The session was conducted by Ms. Salony Priya, the founder Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services. The session was very informative and contributed by sensitizing the participants in context to gender issues. The discourse and discussions in the seminar raised questions related to the impact of narratives in the Indian Society in shaping gender roles and interpersonal relationships. It enlightened the participants on the necessity of challenging gender stereotypes and gender roles and helped to equip them with life skills, so that we can all evolve as torchbearers for a better tomorrow. Last but not the least, the interactive session was very engaging, where several participants raised thought provoking questions and observations which will be instrumental to help them evolve as well adjusted and balanced individuals in the social environment.
