Football, one of the most beloved and influential sports in history, traces its roots to ancient times and continues to stand as a powerful symbol of sportsmanship and teamwork. Keeping this in mind, The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised “Futsal 2025” on the 3rd and 4th of June 2025 — an intra-college football tournament aimed at celebrating the spirit of the game while making it a learning experience for all.
The event, held at the college turf, has been a go-to for football players and enthusiasts since its inception. With the aim of establishing a strong foundation for sports at the college, Futsal has been promoting a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy competition by providing a platform for both experienced and new players to test their skills on the field. Ultimately, the goal is to enjoy the game, find satisfaction in playing, and allow others to experience the joy of the sport as well.
The day commenced with a speech from the organisers, followed by a few words from the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, and BESC’s Joint Secretary, Mr. Jitendra Shah. They all spoke about the greatness of football and the importance of sports in our lives — whether for fitness or for pure fun. The event officially began with Prof. Shah taking the opening penalty kick, scoring a goal on his first try.
The referees for the event, Mr. Kala Chand Saha and Mr. Samiran Ganguly, were then introduced. They proceeded to explain the rules and safety protocols to the players. This was followed by the formal introduction of all 24 teams and 120 players.
The first match of the day started soon after, with aggression and energy at an all-time high as both teams clashed with their feet and minds, refusing to give their opponents any opportunity to gain an upper hand. The competitive nature of the matches turned out to be a visual treat for the audience and the organisers alike, as the players delivered performances that rivalled professional football. As sweat, screams, and spirit filled the air, the turf was surrounded by cheering spectators supporting their friends and favourite teams. The atmosphere was electric — a powerful mix of adrenaline, passion, and community spirit — winning the hearts of students and the college administration alike.
The final match of the evening was no different, with intensity running just as high. The final showdown between Team Next Level and Team Knights kept the entire audience, and indeed the whole campus, hooked. Both teams brought their best to the field, delivering a performance that was equal parts fierce and inspiring. Even the faculty and administrators were captivated, with Prof. Dilip Shah, Mr. Jitendra Shah, and BESC Sports Officers Mr. Bhavin Parmer and Mr. Rupesh all watching the match together.
As the final whistle blew and the referees made their decision, the winners were announced: Team Knights secured 1st place, while Team Next Level took the 2nd position. The victors were felicitated by Mr. Jitendra Shah and Prof. Dilip Shah in front of an applauding crowd.
