“Fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life”. It is the quintessential part of a woman’s wardrobe but nowadays the meaning of fashion has completely changed. Bhawanipur Education Society College has over the years emerged with new ideas and fashion being sensationally the most talked about factor irrespective of the genders, on Sunday, 11th August, 2019 in Jubilee Hall from 11:00 am onwards BESC organised the Fashionista Induction which was attended by almost 130 boys and girls, from B.A & B.Com, passionate about fashion encompassing all the forms. Professor Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs of the college remarked inaugurating the programme, “Style is not limited to costumes and physical charm, but it is about the inner beauty, sang froid and the air of confidence that oozes out the personality”. All the students were brought to order by Pratibha Singh, a 3rd year student.
She initiated the programme by speaking about the basics of fashion and it takes a lot of honest endeavour to take the art to perfection. In simple language she spoke about what fashion is and how the collective helps in instilling in the students confidence. In spite of it being a Sunday, the crowd was really enthralling. As has been repeatedly talked about by the stalwarts of this field, attitude and body language are borne out of the right amount self confidence. If confidence is the key element of fashion and style, it should come spontaneously.
Fashion doesn’t simply comprise walking the ramp and photo shoot, it never comes easy to a fashion person, it indicates immense energy and effort to set the art of fashion. Professor Dilip Shah came up with certain ideas that can be included in the collective as BESC has inspired students from all section over the years to recreate and not to imitate. Imitation being boring should always be discarded to avoid the hindrances in the path of fashion. Introducing to the student about the collective, Professor Dilip Shah named it Fashionista 2.0 with a pledge to open doors for new ideas and new entrants. Dr vasundhara Mishra, Faculty of Bhawanipur Education Society College shared her view points with the students how they can come up with new ideas of introducing Fashion to the world.
Pratibha Singh, the Fashionista representative was the main speaker. She asked the students what they believe fashion is. Having found them a bit nervous initially she warmed the ambience up by explaining the basic difference between fashion and style. Style is unique to everyone whereas fashion is common to all. And Fashionista 2.0 focuses on being a better version of this collective than the previous years. In fact a mock audition was taken where 118 students took part among which around 40 students were selected. Before the audition set off, the participants had been given a brief on certain aspects of ramp walking they need to keep in mind. As a token of appreciation Monster Energy cans were given to the selected participants. Coming to the conclusion of the induction, the speaker announced about the upcoming workshops to take place soon and asked the students to come up with their suggestions on what kind of fashion workshop preferably they would like. The induction ended at 2:00 pm with a satisfied execution and a vote of thanks was given to the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dilip Shah.
