The students at the College got a golden opportunity to spend a 3 Hour Mock Mun session held by the AON Secretariat and explore AON as a platform for freshers as well as experts. The delegates were all experienced people and were the Executive board members of the AON. The delegates represented their respective countries in the mock Mun including USA, India, Iran, India, France, Jordan, Russian Federation, China, Poland, Ukraine, and Israel.
The session started with the assembly of senior Munners who were being addressed by the President, UNCSW, Ms. Madhu Shruti Mukherjee. Following this Prof Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, joined the gathering and elaborated on the MUN event. Various formalities were followed just like a MUN gathering. Finally, the delegates greeted each other and the MUN started. The delegates discussed various sub-agendas like International Affairs and Laws, Compound effects of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, the Status of Refugees due to natural disasters, and many more. The delegates vigorously argued about the various sub-agendas.
The delegates, who were first-year students, were guided in every possible way by the seniors and were taught the correct way to represent themselves in AON sessions. The students were glad to have such supporting, friendly and high-spirited seniors to guide them through. It was a matter of pride to see the students at such an extraordinary event which would initiate them to move forward in their own field of interest. This mock Mun was an enriching experience for the students.
