Objective: The primary objective of the heritage walk was to inculcate awareness among students and to sensitize them towards the importance of heritage conservation. The activity aimed to provide experiential learning beyond the classroom, helping students engage directly with a significant historical monument.
Description of the Event: During the walk, the students were introduced to the history of the monument, its architectural features and its significance in the colonial and postcolonial context. The importance of preserving heritage structures and the role of conservation practices were also discussed. The Walk concluded with the students witnessing the illumination of the Victoria Memorial after sunset, which enhanced their overall experience of the site.
Outcome of the Event: The activity enhanced students understanding of historical monuments and encouraged a sense of responsibility towards heritage preservation, making learning more engaging and contextual.
