Name of the Activity: Contemporary Studies in System Modelling and Simulation – 2025 Type of Activity: One-day National Seminar Date of Activity: 22.11.2025 Time: 10 AM – 5 PM Details of Resource persons:
2. Dr. Sutanu Dutta, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics, Vidyasagar University, West Midnapur
3. Dr. Abhijit Kar Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Panskura Banamali College, East Midnapur
No. of Participants: 74. Out of which 19 were presenters.
Objective of the event: To explore and communicate research-oriented knowledge about developments in system designing and simulation to the scientific community including research scholars, faculties engaged in research and students.
Brief description of the event: The Central Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India sponsored one-day national seminar, COSSMOS-2025 was held with the aim of bringing researchers and faculties working in the domain of systems design and integration, together.
Optical systems design: Dr. Samir Kumar Mondal presented his latest work on optical micro/nano axicon tips which may be implemented to diagnose malignant biological tissues from benign ones based on the power of optical interference patterns in real time.
Modelling of semiconductor-based transistor: Dr. Sutanu Dutta explored materials and put forward a mathematical model which can be implemented into high-capacity transistors.
System analysis using Python: Dr. Abhijit Kar Gupta live demonstrated the power of AI computation to unravel the mathematical details underlying the assimilated images we perceive and its potential application in image processing.
The two parallel sessions comprising paper and poster presentations showcased a variety of topics from optical nonlinear effects to the origin of life.
The awards for best poster presentation and Young Scientist were conferred at the valedictory session.
Outcome of the event: The event was a resounding success as was evident from the feedback of the participants. The CSIR, India sponsored national event came to a befitting end with the message that these kinds of events should continue in the long run not only for dissemination of research-driven knowledge but also for enhancing scientific temperament among the mass as India progresses in the direction of science and technology.
