When groundbreaking music, dropping beats, and melodious voices ruled the day, Euphonious 2025 took place. Organised by Crescendo, the music collective of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Euphonious is an inter-college music festival, marking its 7th edition this year. Euphonious 2025 on September 26, 2025, kicked off at 10:30 A.M. with the opening ceremony, followed by the seven different events taking place throughout the day in the college’s Jubilee Hall and Concept Hall, respectively. With thirteen participating colleges, Euphonious 2025 witnessed the battle of the rappers, extraordinary rhythms of the instrumentals, melody of Eastern and Western music, trailblazing Bollywood numbers, and some iconic band performances, which kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.
Euphonious 2025 began at 10:30 A.M. with the opening ceremony in the Jubilee Hall, with the anchors welcoming the guests and the students for the musical day, a day celebrating the young and talented artists. The Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, proceeded over the stage and invited the Vice-Principal of the Department of Commerce (Morning), Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, to share her words of wisdom. She began her speech by thanking Prof. Dilip Shah for encouraging every form of art in the college premises and credited him for Euphonious having successfully reached its 7th edition. She chanted the Saraswati shlokam, “ṣuklām Brahma-Vicāra-Sāra,” and in her words, music is the rhythm of our hearts and the beat of our souls; it is always within us. She ended her speech by advising the participants not to just look at the day as a competition, but to surrender themselves to music and dedicate the day to music. To honour the legend who dedicated his entire life to music, a composer, lyricist, and singer, Zubeen Garg, the room observed one minute of silence in his memory, following which, two students from BESC performed the iconic songs of Zubeen Garg, which included “Ya Ali”, “Mon Toke Dilam”, and “Aina Mon Bhanga”. This was followed by Prof. Dilip Shah and his better half, Mrs. Hiral Shah, showcasing a soothing musical performance that kept the audience mesmerised. They presented the evergreen, old-school melodies. Following the performance, the judges, Novonil Sarkar and Promita Mukherjee, were felicitated, and with that, the opening ceremony came to an end at 11:00 A.M. with Prof. Shah declaring Euphonious 2025 open.
Solo Bollywood: The first event of the day, solo Bollywood, began at 11:30 A.M. in the Jubilee Hall with seven participants. He has worked on a Grammy-nominated fusion album and continues to enrich the Indian music scene. Every participant was allotted a total of four minutes to present their songs, where some presented soulful melodies and while others delivered electrifying high notes, giving tough competitions. Some of the performed songs included “Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha”, “Mohe Rang Do Lal”, and “Bhare Naina”. Every singer delivered their best performance, but following the rules of the competition, the top three colleges were announced, where The Bhawanipur Education Society College stood first, IIHM came second, and NSHM Knowledge Campus secured third place. With that, the event came to an end at 12:00 P.M.
Solo Eastern: Centuries of Indian tradition, emotion, and culture are represented through Eastern music, giving a sense of pride and highlighting the love for our Motherland. Although the competition was tough, which made it difficult for the judge to decide upon the winners, finally, the best three colleges were decided, where THK Jain College bagged the first position, Asutosh College came second, and The Bhawanipur Education Society College stood third.
Solo Rapping: The electrifying Rap battle began at 12:30 P.M. in the Jubilee Hall with six participants, and each participant was allowed four minutes to perform. Valentino Salvador was the judge, who is a freestyle Rap God from Kolkata. He transforms unspoken emotions into powerful lyrical stories and has performed at major festivals and exclusive events, sharing the stage with artists like Emiway Bantai and Ritviz. The beats, the emotions, the words, and the energy that the stage witnessed were beyond expectations. After the performances were over, the judge, Valentino Salvador, treated the audience with a performance of his own. He advised the youth to always be original and speak their heart out while Rapping. The winners of the solo Rapping event were The Bhawanipur Education Society College Main Team, followed by The Bhawanipur Education Society College OTSE Team, securing the second place, and MSIT bagging the third place.
