Objective of the event: All round development of the personality of the students which includes apart from academic excellence, the spirit of punctuality, discipline, leadership and teamwork
Brief description of the event:
The Department of Political Science organised a Prize Distribution Ceremony under Academic and Disciplinary Measures for Semester II Major Students (ADM) on August 8, 2025. This event is based upon the various academic and disciplinary measures introduced by the Department for the overall development of the students, not only in academics but in various other fields.
The proceedings of the prize distribution ceremony commenced with Amala Dhandhania, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science explaining the parameters of the Academic and Disciplinary Measures on which the students were judged and awarded. Vice Principal (Arts), Debjani Ganguly graced the occasion and felicitated the winning students. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the students by Vice Principal (Arts), Debjani Ganguly and Amala Dhandhania, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science.
The following prizes and recognitions were given out:
a. Highest Class Attendance in all papers based on the sum total of attendance in Political Science Major DSCC2, SEC2 – Raghav Bhaiya
b. Best Performer in Continuous Internal Assembly – Sonail Ghosh and Inna khan Aamna
c. Best Daily Individual Performance in Class – Aryan Mallick
d. Prize for the Highest Score in Academic Quiz – Sonail Ghosh and Warisha Parveen
e. Best Paper Presentation in Students’ Seminar – T. Rakshita
f. Highest Score in Semester I Calcutta University Examination,2024 – Pranav Raj
g. Second Highest Score in Semester I Calcutta University Examination,2024 – Tanisha Mukherjee
h. Best Group – Group A and Group B
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the event based on the students’ feedback is quite positive. Students expressed satisfaction with the current criteria and appreciated the initiative by the department.
