Objective of the event: To make the inmates of the All Bengal Women’s Union aware about the positive impacts of development, as well as its adverse effects on the environment.
Brief description of the event: Semester 2 and Semester 4 students attended the outreach programme, along with teachers from the organising departments. Students gave presentations on Sustainable Development, which were followed by interactive sessions with the students of the organising school. Two short films were screened which addressed pressing environmental issues, such as pollution and water scarcity. To support the infrastructural needs of the institution, forty plastic chairs were donated.
Outcome of the event: The outreach programme concluded with a warm note and all presented showed keen interest and enjoyed the programme.
Dr. Arnab Gangopadhyay of Physics Department (B.E.S. college) introduced Dr. Ganguly with the audience. Number of teachers and students attending the seminar was 16 and 44 respectively.
