Objective of the event: To cultivate a positive mindset in both teachers and students, encouraging active engagement, curiosity, a willingness to embrace challenges, and a belief in their ability to learn and grow, ultimately leading to a more effective and fulfilling learning experience for all involved
Brief description of the event: Seminar/FDP/Workshop Committee, Science Section, The BES College organized a stimulating lecture session by Professor Nitin Chattopadhyay, Department of Chemistry, Jadavpur University, Kolkata on 16.12.2024 at the Society Hall, The Bhawanipur Education Society College in association with IQAC, The BES College in collaboration with Uluberia College, Uluberia, Howrah. Total 65 participants from the Science Section of our college as well as from the Uluberia College participated in this two-hour lecture session. The session was hosted by Dr. Sugata Samanta of the Department of Chemistry and Ms. Anamika Guha of the Department of Computer Science, The BES College. In the inaugural session a welcome address was given by Dr. Subhabrata Ganguly, Teacher in Charge, The BES College.
Prof. Chattopadhyay delivered lecture on “Attitude of Learning and Teaching”. He discussed about the Curiosity and Open-mindedness for learners and patience and flexibility for teachers. He also put emphasis on self-reflection, encouragement and positive reinforcement, respect, and trust for both the learners and teachers. The attitudes of learning and teaching significantly shape the overall educational experience. Positive attitudes lead to more engaged, motivated learners and more responsive, effective teaching. Fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, empathy, patience, and reflection benefits everyone in the educational process. The lecture session was followed by the question answer session. Students and teachers were very much enlightened by this inspiring lecture of Professor Nitin Chattopadhyay. The session ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Anamika Guha of the Department of Computer Science.
Outcome of the event: Increased student engagement, improved academic performance, higher motivation, enhanced self-confidence, better classroom dynamics, and a more positive overall learning experience for both students and teachers.
