“How we perceive ourselves is exactly how the world will perceive us; therefore, it is of utmost importance to carry ourselves with utmost grace and fashion.”
Since everyone collectively agrees on the need for personal grooming; The Bhawanipur Education Society College held a seminar on 31st January 2025 to impart valuable tips and tricks to its students. The seminar provided hands-on experience in personality development and grooming by a professional from Procter & Gamble (P&G). The seminar began at 10:30 A.M. in the college’s Jubilee Hall and at 11:30 A.M. in the Concept Hall, where Ms Disha Ganguly, a senior trainer at Procter & Gamble and a former assistant professor at Parul University; conducted the seminar. The sheer popularity of the topic gathered the attention of more than 420 students across all disciplines and all semesters.
The hour-long sessions on communication, personal development and grooming were insightful as Ms. Ganguly shared her thoughts on dealing with emotions and ideas to safeguard one’s privacy in the workplace and public. In her words, everyone should treat negative emotions like an “ Unwanted Guest” who leaves us when left unattended. Through this analogy, she meant that it’s important to accept all kinds of emotions and take time to process them until they fade away. While she explained how introspection helps us to deal with various emotions inside us, she stated that talking with ourselves can act as a therapy. She also explained the need for privacy and how it is important to raise voice when one’s safety and personal space is breached and therefore setting boundaries since the first day of work is necessary. Following a personalised routine regularly is an important aspect of self grooming which helps to stay focused on the career path. She quoted Franz Kafka saying “Everyone is lying too” which meant that no one can tell the truth better than our instincts and that believing in our instincts is more important than believing in our intellect.
The seminar came to an end at 12: 30 P.M. in the Concept Hall with the felicitation of Ms. Disha Ganguly by Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Co-ordinator, B.Com (Morning) while all the attendees received gift hampers from Procter & Gamble.
