In the province of Camera Obscura, The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted a five-day photography contest from September 25th to September 30th 2023, through the zealous efforts of Sagnik Ghosh, Photography representative of the Expressions Collective. Most of the time, we tend to see things superficially, so in order to expand the student horizons, the contest featured the theme ‘Life in Lines.’ All 31 participants from The Bhawanipur Education Society College had a chance to experience something new or view things in a different light. The contest resulted in around 100 stunning and captivating photographs with a diverse range of interpretations related to life which has art, philosophy, and society. The contest was judged by Mr. Ronak Gadhia, Founder & Creative Director of Framed Memoirs. The judging criteria included composition, creativity, technical proficiency, and the ability to convey a story or emotion through the photograph. The evaluation process continued for 2 days & the results were announced on October 3rd.
After thorough deliberation, the winners were: –
1st Position.: Shana Bose from Semester I of Bachelor of Arts
2nd Position: Ayush Jha from Semester III of Bachelor of Commerce
3rd Position: Ankit Maji from Semester III of Bachelor of Commerce
Not only did all the photographers celebrate creativity but also fostered a sense of community within those who chase the world with their lens. It was not just a contest but the power of photography that captures voice, emotions, and human life, all in a click of the moment!
