Not all heroes wear capes; some give the gift of life with a drop of blood. Our college embraces social responsibility with unwavering commitment. This time, under the ‘Bollywood’ theme, we hosted the Blood Donation Carnival in partnership with Project Life Force at Valia Hall on September 22, 2023. The carnival kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with a human chain of 200 people formed by College management and Project Life Force, inaugurating the blood donation camp. At 10:00 a.m., dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the path to a successful camp.
Mr. Dhanish Sheth and Mr. Ajay Mittal explained the importance of donating blood while reassuring students about the safety and security of the process. Many, unfortunately, decline to donate blood due to a lack of understanding. It’s crucial to recognize that humans are the sole source of blood; neither factories nor laboratories can replicate it. Your donation can save lives.
A thrilling Reel Competition centered around the themes of Blood Donation and Bollywood unfolded, showcasing the remarkable creativity and imagination of our students as they captured the essence of the theme. Shubham Puri, a 3rd-year student from the B.Com department, clinched the top spot, while Sashi Kiran Podder secured second place.
The competition aimed to raise widespread awareness and draw global attention to the critical issue of blood scarcity, inspiring others to contribute to this life-saving cause. By day’s end, a remarkable total of 564 units were collected, a contribution that can potentially save 1692 lives. Every first-time donor received a hearty “Congratulations” and a round of applause, celebrating their noble act of giving.
The entire college campus was transformed into a Bollywood-themed wonderland with vibrant balloons and Bollywood-inspired standees adorning every corner. An electrifying DJ evening took center stage on the Turf, a celebration of the precious gift of life.
The festivities featured live music, captivating dance performances, a stylish ramp walk, and a compelling act presented by the talented students of Crescendo, Flames, Fashionista, and Enact Collective, respectively, all designed to enthrall the enthusiastic crowd.
In recognition of the selfless donors and volunteers, a hearty lunch was organized, a small yet heartfelt gesture for their invaluable contribution to this noble cause. A resounding shoutout to all the donors and volunteers who stepped forward, making this event a true blockbuster success!
