The Bhawanipur Education Society College witnessed an empowering event on the 25th of August, 2023 with the felicitation ceremony of Students Share Skill. The event was conducted in Jubilee Hall from 2:00 p.m. onwards. This gathering, hosted by Utpal Singh and Kashish Agarwal, aimed to celebrate the power of skill-sharing and collaboration, by the students; for the students, creating an environment where knowledge knows no bounds
The event commenced with an insightful opening speech by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah. With an emphasis on the importance of skill-sharing, Prof. Shah eloquently conveyed how the act of imparting knowledge not only hones one’s skills but also spreads the light of learning to countless others. His charismatic presence and words instantly connected with the audience and participants, setting the tone for the felicitation ceremony ahead.
This felicitation ceremony was a consequence of a month-long skill-sharing session conducted by student mentors on 8 skills like Garba dance form, anchoring, graphic designing, solo dance, fashion walk, art & craft & make up classes. These classes were nothing less than stories of passion being staged by students who enjoy the joy of sharing their skill sets. With different skill sets showcased by students over the last month, the collective of Student Share Skill has successfully showcased the power of sharing. Owing to this, the felicitation ceremony was a big boost to the morale of not only the students but the student-teachers as well.
On the day of felicitation with a touch of cultural vibrancy, the stage came alive with a spirited Garba performance by the mentors & the students of Garba as a skill. The rhythmic beats and colorful attire brought a sense of unity and celebration to the gathering, infusing the event with energy and enthusiasm. As the event unfolded, performers and their dedicated “student – teachers” were recognized and honored for their outstanding contributions. Certificates were handed out to each student who completed the classes, acknowledging their dedication and newly acquired skills. Devang Nagar, from the Crescendo collective, sang a soulful rendition of two songs drawing thunderous applause from the captivated audience.
The event saw Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator B.com (Morning) on stage to felicitate the student-teachers who had orchestrated this collective of skill sharing. Their dedication and commitment to fostering a culture of mentorship and learning were duly acknowledged, reinforcing the value of their efforts in sharing a skill known to them with their fellow students. This initiative not only enabled students to acquire new skills but also encouraged them to practice it forward, creating a ripple effect of knowledge dissemination that promises to endure and inspire. The next batch of student-share skill classes will have newer skill sets to be shared & learned by the students. Towards the end the students were grateful to their mentor & faculty, Divya P. Udeshi who constantly guided the students from ideation to execution of this event.
In conclusion, the event epitomized the spirit of unity, collaboration, and the boundless potential that arises from sharing skills. The Bhawanipur Education Society College takes pride in nurturing an environment where knowledge is a currency that is appreciated when shared. As we reflect on this event, we are reminded that when students and teachers come together with a shared passion for learning, the possibilities are truly limitless.
